September 2006 with 233 hours.

The sum of all individual measurements of precipitation reached 23.5 mm at our measuring point in Coswig in September. The monthly total thus corresponded to 51% of the normal value for this month. We therefore registered a very dry first month of autumn with regard to the total amount of precipitation. At the Intercultural Garden Coswig (IKG) we almost reached approx. 30%, as well as in the surrounding area, because on 29.09. coincidentally, an extremely small-scale heavy rain cluster developed in the immediate vicinity of the IKG, moved northward and later dissolved. weather characteristics:
Right from the start, the month of September was predominantly characterized by Omega weather conditions,
where the influence of high pressure predominated over our room. This is also reflected in the
generally dry weather. At the beginning of the 3rd decade of September developed
temporarily over the North Atlantic and Northern Europe a typical autumn and
largely zonally oriented jet stream, which also touched northern Germany for a short time. But already after 23.09. the “old” meridional flow patterns reappeared. Long-wave high-altitude troughs characterized the flow conditions over the eastern North Atlantic and across Eastern Europe, while a high-altitude wedge stretched in between from Central Europe to Scandinavia (Fig. 1). Omega weather conditions now again prevented the spread of weather-related disturbances. The drought continued into October.
